Vespa Fishing Team
A. J. Klott, one of the guys behind Two Guys With Flys, has written a humourous article about trading in our huge, gas guzzlin’, pick-up trucks for Vespa scooters. The story, titled Join The Vespa Fishing Team, makes a few good points about what our passion for fishing, and our “impulse recreation[al]“ needs to fill the back of our pick-ups with anything and everything we may need or want on our trip, are really costing us. Not only have gas prices risen to an almost unimaginable price, but we are just now beginning to really see the global impact of our actions in the form of pollution related diseases, and global warming.
Maybe we should take a step back and look at what A. J. is really saying. If we truely are outdoors men and women, than we need to take a closer look at the impact we are personally having on the environment driving 200 miles or more every weekend to enjoy it (while it lasts).
That said, I would like to see nothing more than a convoy of fishermen on Vespas driving down the highway.
