Friday Fishing Fun

Hooked! It’s Friday again, and Im sure you know what that means! Friday Fishing with On The Patio, of course. If you haven’t seen the Friday Fishing posts before be sure to check them out. But you might want to wait until you get home because most of it is very NSFW.

If you need help making it through those last few minutes, or hours, at work we’ve got a great time-waster for you this evening. MyPlayCity has an awesome collection of downloadable games to play for almost any occasion, but we recommend checking out Crazy Fishing!

In other news- Robbie Angus, a grade school student, landed a new world record Black Marlin, for the under 12 age group, to compliment the world record Blue Marlin that he caught previously.

In February the intermediate school pupil scored a world record blue marlin and now he’s added a black. Fishing with his father, John, aboard the Allure out of Cairns, Angus junior hooked a 256.5kg black that will set a record for under-12s if ratified by the International Game Fishing Association.

They were in Cairns specifically to try for the record as Robbie’s 12th birthday approached. It was a good trip for the family with John winning the annual Lizard Island tournament with a black marlin in excess of 400kg.

I’ve got a few more posts coming tomorrow. Including some information on how get your kids out for world record fish, and how to properly document the event for judges. Again my appologies but work has been very busy this week.

Re: Ch-Ch-Cha-Changes

When conditions are right, 40 fish a day is lower range - at the right time you can easily get 75+ Thats Ontario though, don't expect that Nova Scotia!

40 FISH A DAY?!!...I'd be happy with 2 or 3, i can't wait 'till all my pennies are saved up and i come over to sample the fishing in your part of the world, sounds like an angler's paradise!

Gary is correct, the fishing up there is rarely not very good. This trip was from her first year up there and she probably caught an average of 40 fish a day or more. Believe it or not her favorite part was sitting in shallow water and casting her spoon trough the weeds for Pike. Her technique also got her the most walleye on the trip. I agree with ya Woody, nothing like spending the whole day on the water with no electronic toys to dull the day......well except for my portable fish finder. :)

well woody there are never any bad days while fishing in canada. probably my favorite place in the world to go fishing and get away from the rat race!

Re: Rocket Fishing Rod

My daughter wants me to get her a rocket fishing rod for Christmas, even though I did teach her the same way I learned with good ole rod and reel. I have seen more cons then pros with this product, but I don't wanna break her little heart and tell her she's better off with the rod she has now. Any tips to make the news breaking easier for both me and her? Thanks.

Re: Stormy Kromer Hat Contest!

I'm not much for a pithy comment, but I thought I'd leave a note about how honored I be to wear Kromer on my upcoming annual pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. I'm sure that my hunting buddies will joke about how silly I look while they wear their stylized broad brim hunting caps, but I'll be laughing on the inside as my head stays nice and warm. I'll be laughing al the more when the stiff South Dakota wind picks up and Kromer is staying put. Finally, with the fall bite on, I know my new Kromer will call the [...]
