Big Baits For Big Fish

With musky season now open in much of Ontario I figured it was about time to show off some of the baits I have been making. Originally, I started making inline spinner baits for pike that are bigger and heavier then current pike baits seen in stores. I tested out a couple of my baits fishing for pike at Toronto Islands a couple weeks ago and decided I would make some even larger baits to use for musky.

It’s no secret much of my fishing success has come from fishing spinner baits. I have used Mepps #5 blade spinner baits for years now, but I wanted a spinner bait with a bigger blade and more weight. My inline spinner baits are made with #8 blades and heavy wire so they are very durable. If you are interested in buying one, do not hesitate to ask.

Hey,
I’m always looking for something that will help me pick up a local hammer handle. I’m very new to fishing but am very fortunate to have access to some pretty cool boats for local fishing..I’m pretty sure I remember the day you, or friend, caught the carp at OP…maybe I can arrange to get you off the shore for a change….mondays are my usual day off so let me know…

Fridaychico, thanks for the offer. Mondays are good for me & given enough notice almost any day of the week is do-able. What area were you interested in fishing, & for what species?

well, if it’s still worth while we can always hit the island for some pike, and when the season opens I’ve heard about some decent spots for largies….all in all it doesn’t really matter much, it’s still better than being at work. the 19th’s will be the first day i will be available

Re: Japanese Tackle Shops

That's the trouble right there, the finish on these Lures!...I started buying Rapala jointed and when i had a couple i just had to buy them in all the different finishes (Hot Perch, Perch, Walleye etc etc), i had so many in the end it was like i was collecting them to put in a glass case or something, i didn't dare use them, a Pike won't care if your Lure cost 5 quid or 30 quid, it's still gonna scratch all that fancy artwork/paintwork either way!...I sold all mine as a set on ebay in the end as i [...]

Re: Stormy Kromer Hat Contest!

I'm not much for a pithy comment, but I thought I'd leave a note about how honored I be to wear Kromer on my upcoming annual pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. I'm sure that my hunting buddies will joke about how silly I look while they wear their stylized broad brim hunting caps, but I'll be laughing on the inside as my head stays nice and warm. I'll be laughing al the more when the stiff South Dakota wind picks up and Kromer is staying put. Finally, with the fall bite on, I know my new Kromer will call the [...]
