Exploding Whales

Back in 1970, the good people of Florence, Oregon were met with a severe problem; how do you remove eight ton whale from the beach. Since nobody wanted to cut the whale up, the only logical plan they could come up with was to use a half ton of dynamite to clear the whale from the beach. Now I’m no brain scientist, but surely somebody must have known this was a bad idea.

Thanks to the wonders of YouTube we can now sit back and watch one of humanitys brightest moments more then 35 years later.

Recently, on the other side of the world, the people of Tainan, Taiwan were faced with a similar problem when a much larger whale washed up on shore. Instead of using the Americans vulgar technique, they decided to place the whale on the back of a truck and drive it through the city so marine biologists could examine its remains. In theory, this was a great idea, but while on route, the gases from internal decay caused its stomach to explode, covering the streets with blood and guts.

    what the hell how could anyone do this. i mean what the fuck i … i just dont get how people could be so heartless, and cruel i hate it it makes me resent being human. i think all people like that should be put on a deserted island with nothing. its just so… inhumane. i guess what i really want is for people to think before they do something so diabolical.

    Chazmine, I’m pretty sure the whale was already dead in both scenarios so I don’t see how it’s inhumane.
