At Fishing Fury, we love shiny things as much as fish do - especially shiny reels. As odd as it may sound, it’s not only important that our reels function well, but that they look great too. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder when it comes to reels though. Personally I prefer the appearance of a round baitcast reel, where as Jon prefers low profile. One thing with both agree on though, is that if we had the money, we would have a serious collection of pimped out reels. Here’s a list of the reels we wish we had, but probably never will.
The big day is almost here. I’ll be getting married this weekend! This is gonna be a busy week, but stay tuned for your regularly scheduled updated as soon as all the guests have left!
Well, another birthday has come and gone. I went fishing on my birthday, keeping the yearly tradition alive. Sadly, much like past birthdays, not big fish were caught. I did however get to explore a couple of new lakes, both of which I’ll be revising soon I’m sure.
Our first stop of the day was at Lewis Lake Provincial Park which is a great little area. The park has two small lakes and designated fishing areas. After speaking with another fisherman, I learned that the lake is stocked with trout, and despite is small size is actually quite deep. I fished with my spinner baits while he fished with worms. Neither of us caught anything.
Later that evening I headed out to Long Lake Provincial park. I had been there once before in the fall, and the lake looked beautiful. I can drive to the lake in about 10 minutes, so there really was no excuse to to fish there at least once. I’m glad I went because I caught a dozen smallmouth bass in about an hour and a half. Granted none were very big, but they were bigger then the ones I’ve been catching at other nearby lakes. I lost a good size bass that could have been pushing 2lbs, but the most interesting catch I had all day was actually the smallest bass I’ve ever caught…
I have a friend whose cottage is on Lake Chemong, never fished in it although I've heard all the stories. I was walking in it this weekend past, paddled it too, with Alexander directing.....check out the Curve Lake Powwow sometime!!!!
I worked so hard this weekend, the shirt fell right offen me, so I need that shirt more than ANYONE else!
Love your site!
