Here at Fishing Fury, we love shiny things as much as fish do - especially shiny reels. As odd as it may sound, it’s not only important that our reels function well, but that they look great too. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder when it comes to reels though. Personally I prefer the appearance of a round baitcast reel, where as Jon prefers low profile. One thing with both agree on though, is that if we had the money, we would have a serious collection of pimped out reels. Here’s a list of the reels we wish we had, but probably never will.
The more Bill Dance bloopers I see, the more I wonder if they are real or staged. Is it possible that this man is really THAT clumsy, or is he intentional setting himself for disaster? Here’s a classic example, Bill precariously balances his fishing rod on a seat while he picks up his other rod…
And another prime example, Bill shows us his fishing rod while indoors, standing under a ceiling fan…
What do you think, are these bloopers the real deal, or is Bill Dance a comedic genius?
I’ve never been a fan of campers or RVs, but I am a fan of Jeep. I’m still undecided about the combination of the two. On one hand, you have a vehicle that is not only capable of taking you on some serious off road adventures, but can also provide a nice comfortable place for you to camp. On the other had, its pretty hideous.
The two rear doors have been replaced with a big box containing a bench seat, small kitchen, a toilet and extra storage.
Is it just me, or are the Scugog musky getting bigger this year? Curt sent us in some photos from a recent trip to Lake Scugog and it looks like they had an incredible day. Any day with multiple musky is OK in my books!
Thought you might enjoy these pics. All mine (red shirt) were caught on the same spinner bait. Mike’s musky was 50′ and about 25 lbs. - Curt
Awesome job Curt, keep sending those photos our way!
In case you thought that last grenade fishing video wasn’t bad enough, check this out! You can see about a dozen fish float to the top after the explosion.
When conditions are right, 40 fish a day is lower range - at the right time you can easily get 75+
Thats Ontario though, don't expect that Nova Scotia!

40 FISH A DAY?!!...I'd be happy with 2 or 3, i can't wait 'till all my pennies are saved up and i come over to sample the fishing in your part of the world, sounds like an angler's paradise!

Gary is correct, the fishing up there is rarely not very good. This trip was from her first year up there and she probably caught an average of 40 fish a day or more. Believe it or not her favorite part was sitting in shallow water and casting her spoon trough the weeds for Pike. Her technique also got her the most walleye on the trip.
I agree with ya Woody, nothing like spending the whole day on the water with no electronic toys to dull the day......well except for my portable fish finder. :)

well woody there are never any bad days while fishing in canada. probably my favorite place in the world to go fishing and get away from the rat race!
My daughter wants me to get her a rocket fishing rod for Christmas, even though I did teach her the same way I learned with good ole rod and reel. I have seen more cons then pros with this product, but I don't wanna break her little heart and tell her she's better off with the rod she has now. Any tips to make the news breaking easier for both me and her? Thanks.
I have a friend whose cottage is on Lake Chemong, never fished in it although I've heard all the stories. I was walking in it this weekend past, paddled it too, with Alexander directing.....check out the Curve Lake Powwow sometime!!!!
I worked so hard this weekend, the shirt fell right offen me, so I need that shirt more than ANYONE else!
Love your site!

I'm not much for a pithy comment, but I thought I'd leave a note about how honored I be to wear Kromer on my upcoming annual pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota.
I'm sure that my hunting buddies will joke about how silly I look while they wear their stylized broad brim hunting caps, but I'll be laughing on the inside as my head stays nice and warm. I'll be laughing al the more when the stiff South Dakota wind picks up and Kromer is staying put.
Finally, with the fall bite on, I know my new Kromer will call the [...]
