Fish Or Football?
It looks like this trout is ready to explode!

The first tackle shop I hit was Sansui. This is a small chain of stores in Tokyo. They deal in nice high-end tackle for all fishing disciplines. I went to the Shibuya location which was a little strange. They’re essentially 2 locations not far from one another, each with 2 stores. They have a saltwater store, fly fishing store, shore saltwater/main store, and a largemouth bass store. I went to them all and of course made a few purchases including an EverGreen Opus-1 spinning reel. This reel is very hard to get here in the US since there is no EverGreen presence in the States. In Japan they are one of the top, if not the top, bass fishing rod manufacturer. You can check out the unboxing photos in the galleries.

I’ve been on a mission to find a good site that offered quality shirts and products at a fair price. I’ve had a few shirts made up for myself but until now I haven’t been happy with the product quality, until now! That being said, we’ll be adding some links to more Fishing Fury gear in the very near future!
Here’s a awesome hat I created for you fishermen who love trucker hats. By next week, we should have several options for shirts and designs, stay tuned!

Retro Fishing Fury trucker hat - $14.95
And happy Thanksgiving to our friends in the good ole USA!
I’m not sure why I like this product so much. The idea of it pretty strange, but I’d love to have one of these giant Rapala lures hanging over a my basement bar - If I had a bar that is, or even a basement. I’m a firm believer that 99% of fishing lures are designed to catch the fisherman, rather then the fish - and this one certainly doesn’t make any argument against that belief. This lure would be unusable to fish with and it’s only purpose is to be hung with relative care on your wall.
These 30 inch beauties will set you back $50-60.
I was really expecting the bird to be dinner. Oh well.
Fly fishing never looked so good.

Christmas is just around the corner, and as usual we’d like to help you find the perfect gift for the fishermen (or women) in your life. We’ve already shared with you the worst gift ideas for fishermen, and now, in the days leading up to Christmas, we’ll share with you our gift ideas to make sure fishermen around the world are happy on Christmas morning.
Lets face it, fishermen have a reputation as big drinkers, especially when it comes to beer. Why not give the gift of beer this holiday season?

Thanks Stephen!
It’s pretty much common knowledge now that many of the worlds greatest fish are in low supply thought the world. It’s not really surprising though, fish like swordfish and marlin taste great, and people love to eat. Eventually things need to change though, or species like marlin will be fishing to extinction. Enter, Take Marlin Off The Menu, a group of concerned citizens who want to make sure that doesn’t happen. How? By taking marlin off the menu of course! It’s an idea so simple, it may just work.
Why stop eating billfish?
2. Marlin and other billfish populations are not sustainable based on current demand. Their decline is being fueled by the demand for marlin meat among consumers, which corresponds with the overall growing demand for seafood both in the United States as well as throughout the world. Unlike catfish and tilapia and other “farm-raised” seafood, marlin can’t be farm-raised, and therefore can’t keep up with the demand. Besides, farming top ocean predators actually results in a net loss of available seafood because the diets required to rear carnivorous fish are comprised mostly of wild-caught fish. It would be analogous to raising lions or tigers in pens for human consumption.
3. Marlin may be harmful to eat. Marlin and billfish often contain unhealthy levels of mercury and other toxins that may be harmful to humans who regularly eat marlin, billfish and other large fish predators.
Works for me, I don’t think I’ve ever eaten marlin before!

Woody (3 days, 4 hours ago)That's the trouble right there, the finish on these Lures!...I started buying Rapala jointed and when i had a couple i just had to buy them in all the different finishes (Hot Perch, Perch, Walleye etc etc), i had so many in the end it was like i was collecting them to put in a glass case or something, i didn't dare use them, a Pike won't care if your Lure cost 5 quid or 30 quid, it's still gonna scratch all that fancy artwork/paintwork either way!...I sold all mine as a set on ebay in the end as i [...]

Re: Stormy Kromer Hat Contest!
Jason Wilson (2 months, 2 weeks ago)I'm not much for a pithy comment, but I thought I'd leave a note about how honored I be to wear Kromer on my upcoming annual pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. I'm sure that my hunting buddies will joke about how silly I look while they wear their stylized broad brim hunting caps, but I'll be laughing on the inside as my head stays nice and warm. I'll be laughing al the more when the stiff South Dakota wind picks up and Kromer is staying put. Finally, with the fall bite on, I know my new Kromer will call the [...]
