Sharks, Is There Anything They Can’t Do?

A Hungarian aquarium is celebrating a virgin birth after its lone female shark produced a pup without ever being in contact with a male shark. This isn’t the first time that a lone shark in captivity has given birth though. A hammerhead and a spotted bamboo shark both created offspring without any help from a male. There are reptile, plants and other creatures that can procreate asexually, but none of them are a complex as the shark.

I for one look forward to the day that sharks rule the world.
