Rocket Fishing Rod Review

There is a very small selection of fishing equipment made especially for kids. Barbie and Spider-man mini rods seem to be the most popular over the years. Not long ago a cool looking device called the Rocket Fishing Rod came onto the scene and even won an award at iCast. While my little one isn’t old enough to fish, my good friend Jonny Mackay has two boys who were happy and willing to test out the Rocket Rod. That looks like good fun, but that could be it’s downfall, how long before the so called adults are nicking the rod’s off the kids to have a go themselves and end up just chasing each other. the famous words ‘that could have someone’s eye out’ spring to mind!

I purchased this rod for my 7 year old. Biggest waste of money I have spent. Took it back the very next day. There were so many issues with it that I could’nt possibly list them here.

Roland Martin can stick this turd of a rod back up his ass. I’m telling as many people about it as possible that have kids or are considering it as a gift.

Please take it off the shelves… It should be a crime to sell something this poor….

I bought this for my son. Aggravating, it is like the gears don’t line up from the crank to the reel. Very difficult to reel in but ok to cast. I probably will just return it and teach my son how to cast for real like my dad taught me.

Santa brought this for my son. Began using it a month ago. Now it’s too late to return..and how do you return a gift from Santa. Nothing but trouble from end-to-end. Shipping back to Spin Master in Canada is expensive and defeats the purpose of exchanging for a different product. Such a disappointment for a costly child’s rod.

Dan, can you tell us more about what happened? What failed on the toy? Do you think it is a design flaw or poor manufacturing? Photos?

sad that it had to be in “toy” quality, the idea is great, i would love to start engineer one bigbrother for adults and own personal use if legal, that i must google first.
