Fishermen And Crocodiles Dont Mix

I have seen plenty of crocodiles at the zoo, but never in the wild. If I ever come across one though, I’ll be keeping my distance. An Israeli fisherman learned the hard way to keep his distance from crocs when a massive 4 metre long crocodile took a lunge at him. He escaped with all his body parts intact, but promises he wont get so close during his next encounter with a croc. Sounds like a solid plan to me.

    Came across a mugger (magar) crocodile in the wild when I was in Sri Lanka. Luckily I was in a car; I spotted it just as I was musing how the river we were crossing looked like a nice place for a spot of fly-fishing!

    I just did some reading on mugger crocodiles, and it looks like attacks on humans are pretty rare Adam. Most attacks occur on small children – so you probably would have been safe, although I wouldn’t take the chance!
