Season Opener Tomorrow!

It’s been a long time since I’ve been fishing. I was hoping to go ice fishing this winter, but it never worked out. There is still ice on many of the lakes nearby, but trout, smallmouth bass and chain pickerel season opens tomorrow and I’m going fishing even If I have to break the ice to do it. My friend Adrian and I visited a local lake yesterday that has open season year round for fishing, but the only open water was well out of casting distance. I’m very excited about fishing this early in the year. Growing up in Ontario, pike season opened in May, while bass and musky season doesn’t open until June.

I figure it will be another few days of warm weather before the ice melts, but there are some other lakes near my work that have only a little ice remaining. So tomorrow I’ll be fishing on my lunch break!

    1. It is off Lancaster Drive acutally, how did you know? The photo was taken on the opposite side of the lake at Highfield Park. I work on teh opposite side of the highway beside Frenchman Lake.

    2. No largemouth anywhere in Nova Scotia. There are smallmouth, and it is stocked with trout.

    3. Of course we can go, but there are plenty of lakes nearby that amy be better! I’ll be trying a new location each week hopefully.

Wicked mate, Smallmouth it is then, you’ll have to suss out the lake with the most overcrowding of fish so at least i’ve got a fighting chance against the local boy! The Lancaster drive is no mystery, i was googling the lake to see if it gave a rundown of what fish were in there but it didn’t. Cya laters, Mark
