E-mail Of The Week

Things are pretty busy at Fishing Fury headquarters. We get a lot of email and we make it a point to reply to each and every one of them. Its really not as hard is it sounds though. There was only one email this week that wasn’t spam. Luckily it was a good email, complete with great pike photographs, so I figure I should post it.

    Gentlemen,

You have put Ken Reece on your website and our group of fishing friends can no longer tolerate his bragging….it is utterly painful. I beg of you to end this pain and put some of our quality catches on your site as well. While Ken Reece is a respectable fisherman, let me say this….
“If Ken Reece is a pike fisherman extraordinaire, the guys you will see in the attached photos could have reached Pike Fishing Immortality”.

…there is but one lure to rule them all.

    Joshua Sapp
    Toledo, Oh

PIKE!!

Nice size pikeLong pike!Huge pike!

Thanks for the email Josh, now its time to sit back and see what Mr. Reece has to say!

I will not retaliate to Josh and his ‘Immortal’ crew. I usually only talk smack with people who have actually caught Pike over 20 lbs. :)

The truth will come in 2 months when myself and the 3 ‘Immortals’ above hit Sportsman Lodge and try our luck on Little Vermillion. Untll then the 4 of us will be hitting a local lake tomorrow for some walleye and smallmouth fishing to pass the time.

P.S. Who uses a Lord of the Rings quote for fishing??? Please try harder next time Frodo.

I can’t wait to see how you guys do up there Ken, I’m really looking forward to it. If you want to email me with your address I have a couple of secret weapon lures I can send your way - all I ask in return is photos of 20lbers!

Sign me up Jamie! Those pike are crazy!

I’d highly recommend that every serious pike angler go at least once before you die. You’d have a blast there!!!!
Books open for next year.

3000 a week? Isn’t that a bit steep? I can do almost 3 months non stop at Rainbow Lake for that kind money. Or two weeks private guided catfish fishing on the Ebro, including the flight……

Sander on May 29th, 2008 @ 3:30 pm

Sander,
You get what you pay for.
Just got back. We got 1500 between 6 guys. Larget were in the 46″ class. The average walleye was around 22″.
Check out the prices at places like Plummers, Edmund Lake, Knee, Walliston, etc.
And honestly we get more trophies (41″+) PER angler PER week than the other places get in a month of being packed with guests.
For what you get it’s actually the deal of the century. Plus you can fish after dinner….which at most places is off limits so you lose a few hours a DAY of fishing.

Re: Ch-Ch-Cha-Changes

Gary is correct, the fishing up there is rarely not very good. This trip was from her first year up there and she probably caught an average of 40 fish a day or more. Believe it or not her favorite part was sitting in shallow water and casting her spoon trough the weeds for Pike. Her technique also got her the most walleye on the trip. I agree with ya Woody, nothing like spending the whole day on the water with no electronic toys to dull the day......well except for my portable fish finder. :)

well woody there are never any bad days while fishing in canada. probably my favorite place in the world to go fishing and get away from the rat race!

Re: Rocket Fishing Rod

My daughter wants me to get her a rocket fishing rod for Christmas, even though I did teach her the same way I learned with good ole rod and reel. I have seen more cons then pros with this product, but I don't wanna break her little heart and tell her she's better off with the rod she has now. Any tips to make the news breaking easier for both me and her? Thanks.

Re: Stormy Kromer Hat Contest!

I'm not much for a pithy comment, but I thought I'd leave a note about how honored I be to wear Kromer on my upcoming annual pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. I'm sure that my hunting buddies will joke about how silly I look while they wear their stylized broad brim hunting caps, but I'll be laughing on the inside as my head stays nice and warm. I'll be laughing al the more when the stiff South Dakota wind picks up and Kromer is staying put. Finally, with the fall bite on, I know my new Kromer will call the [...]
