Mr Welch battled this 6ft wide, 14ft long monster for 45 minutes and in the end it was too big to weigh. The massive ray is believed to be well over 300 pounds.

“When we got it to the surface I could not comprehend that something that size existed,” said Mr Welch, 45, a doctor in freshwater biology.














That will make me think twice before jumping in the local river for a swim. I never even knew freshwater rays existed.
Wow that thing is HUGE! I have been freshwater fishing before but never seen anything close to that.
