Autumn Is Here

The only reason I ever know about special days is because Google tells me. Today, Google says, Autumn has begun.

Sadly, this also means that there is less then 10 days of fishing before the season ends here.

    the fishing season ends?

what species are you not allowed to fish for after ten days?

In my area (Halifax, Nova Scotia), the summer season is open from April 15th to September 30th. This covers all freshwater fish, including bass, trout, salmon, and perch.

This would be prime time if I was still in Ontario!

They stop the fishing just as its getting good in N.S. The real season is just starting here on the BOQ. If you are serious about trying out ice fishing this year let me know and I’ll mail ya out some gear to try.

10 days, who have you got in charge of the fisheries where you are, a mental retard?!…Nobody even goes after the Pike yet for about another 3 or 4 months when it gets really cold over here!

We don’t have pike in Nova Scotia Woody! There is an winter fishing season, I haven’t checked the dates yet.

Why no Pike?…I can understand about you having no Largemouth Bass as the water might be a bit too cool for them but Pike love the cold water!…Do you have Musky?

No musky either. We have chain pickerel, which looks like a pike, but it much smaller. I haven’t seen a carp here either.
