    Nice fish, i told you they had a lovely Bass green…The only trouble is now i’ve got to catch a bigger one to send in now i’ve got some French competition…The other problem is it’s getting cold now and Tench are usually only caught in the warmer months, they virtually hibernate in the winter!

    Kinda looks like a cross between a Smallie (colour, eye), a Carp (mouth) with a Brown Trout’s tail.
    Nice fish, regardless!

    You’ve got that right Bill!…They are a member of the Carp family i think, the tail is very powerful as there is hardly any thinning in the body shape, just a thick chunk of a tail at the end, my Dad said if Tench ever got to the sizes that Carp did, you’d be lucky to pull them in, they’re one of the hardest fighting fish and put Carp to shame, and that’s saying something!
