Ch-Ch-Cha-Changes

There are a lot of changes happening in the world of Fishing Fury, both on and off the site. I just moved into a new apartment with my lovely wife and son this past weekend, and Jon found a new pad last month. You’ve probably already noticed the changes to the site, some slight font changes, the introduction of a new tag system, and new buttons that allow you to share Fishing Fury articles on sites like Facebook and digg. Jon is always hard at work trying to find ways to improve the site so if you have any ideas, wishes or praises to send his way, feel free to leave a comment below.

In other news, year end is fast approaching, which means we’ll be giving a prize to the top contributor to the site. If you have any photos from this year that you haven’t sent us already, send them to staff@fishingfury.com. The person with the most submissions will receive three Rockstar Lures for free.

So far it’s hard to say who will win, but I’ll be updating out galleries with some recent submissions very soon.

Here are two photos Ken Reece (one of the winners of the Stormy Kromer contest) sent in of his darling daughter who will be sporting a pink Kromer this winter!

The site’s never looked better, guys, buuuuuuut I’m still having issues with posting pics on the forum. In fact, I’ve got 1 draft of a post saved in the FF archives, & another I have saved in my notepad…lol. Both include pics, with one being a tease for Jon to come ice fishing this year!
Any help or info I can use will be appreciated.

Hey Bill, I’ve figured out part of the problem, it isn’t liking images linked from other sites, but you can attach images from your computer right to the forum.

Nice one Ken, there can’t be a better way on a day off than just to get your kid and hop in the boat and get out on the water for a few hours!….Looks like that day wasn’t a bad one either!

well woody there are never any bad days while fishing in canada. probably my favorite place in the world to go fishing and get away from the rat race!

Gary is correct, the fishing up there is rarely not very good. This trip was from her first year up there and she probably caught an average of 40 fish a day or more. Believe it or not her favorite part was sitting in shallow water and casting her spoon trough the weeds for Pike. Her technique also got her the most walleye on the trip.

I agree with ya Woody, nothing like spending the whole day on the water with no electronic toys to dull the day……well except for my portable fish finder. :)

40 FISH A DAY?!!…I’d be happy with 2 or 3, i can’t wait ’till all my pennies are saved up and i come over to sample the fishing in your part of the world, sounds like an angler’s paradise!

Woody on December 4th, 2008 @ 1:44 pm

When conditions are right, 40 fish a day is lower range – at the right time you can easily get 75+

Thats Ontario though, don’t expect that Nova Scotia!

Fugu by Adam Guy

In purely culinary terms, Fugu is quite a versatile ingredient that possesses a unique texture, lending it to a number of different methods of preparation. The very high prices paid for Fugu meals give it a rather hallowed status and is considered quite the indulgence, whilst the apparent danger associated with such a poisonous fish imbues the diner with a sense of daring or adventure. In fact, the gourmand’s name for raw Fugu, tessa, is an ironic term derived from the phrase teppō sashimi, or ‘musket sashimi’. However, with the correct preparation Fugu can be enjoyed quite safely and here in Japan, especially in the eastern Kantō region, the hungry fisherman can indulge himself in Fugu dishes that normally command prohibitively high prices in exclusive restaurants.
