When you think of Egypt, you probably don’t think of fishing. The truth is, Egypt offers some truly incredible fishing experiences – especially in Lake Nasser. The lake is about 550 km long, 35 km across at its widest point and was created as a result of the construction of the Aswan Dam across the Nile. The biggest and meanest inhabitant of the lake is the Nile perch. This so called perch is a far cry from the common perch we North Americans and Europeans are used to, these beasts can weigh over 400 pounds (181kg)!
The days are finally getting longer. No more driving home from work in the dark. Today I saw my first sunset of 2009. More daylight only means one thing to me, spring is in the air! And as any good fisherman knows, spring is prime time for catching big fish, especially big pike. I’ve been hard at work over the past few weeks thinking up new designs for lures, and new methods to make those designs a reality. Some new tools, lure parts, paint colours and techniques have opened up a whole new world of artistic freedom with my lures. I’m just about ready to unleash the 2009 lineup. And as always the money earned from Rockstar Lures goes right back into Fishing Fury. Stay tuned!
