Well, 2009 is just about done with. It was a good year, but a busy one. I haven’t checked out the stats from our site, but I’d like to think we’ve grown substantially over the last year. I’m really looking to 2010. I’ll be cutting out some hours at work by eliminating my second job all together, which should free up some time for for the three F’s – Family, Friends and of course, Fishing.
Before you watch this video, you should know that the two main actors are Lorenzo Lamas and Debbie Gibson. Now with that knowledge you shouldn’t expect much in terms of acting or special effects!
I’ve never really understood why people love go out to shops. Don’t get me wrong, I love to spend, but the act of going to a mall to shop is about as fun as being kicked in the shin by a two year old. Call me lazy if you want, but if I could do all of my shopping online, I would. This time of year is of course the worst time to shop in stores. I don’t mind the crowds so much, but waiting in line, especially with my two year old son, is just brutal. Especially after he has just kicked me in the shin. So for all you people out there that feel my pain, do yourself a favor and buy some gifts online. Etsy is a great source for unique fishing and non-fishing gifts, and if you live in the US or Canada, you can probably find a seller that lives fairly close and can ship or deliver you some stuff before Christmas. Here are a couple of examples of the artwork you can find on Etsy.
The beauty of Etsy is that you can find thousands of hand made items, including, but not limited to lures, flies, carvings, paintings and more. My lovely wife even has a few items up for sale, including these cowls.
We packed it in after an hour and headed to a nearby bar called “The Bomb” in Balmertown to grab some food and drink. The beer was good, but the food was pretty greasy and it left a lot to be desired as our last meal before the trip. I don’t think we talked much about food on our last trip, mostly because we didn’t bring any, and the same held true this year. In true Fishing Fury spirit, we we’re to become one with the lake over the next week. Aside from a single case of beer, that miraculously turned up empty on the fourth night, everything we would consume would come from the lake and the fish would be cleaned and cooked by the same hands that caught them, and there is no meal more satisfying than that.
