April Vokey Syndrome Is Spreading
We posted a photos of April last year, but didn’t know much about her at the time. Thanks to SwittersB, know we know a just a little bit more. April is a top notch fly-fishing columnist, instructor, guide and more.
Whoever said girls can’t fish needs to see this girl in action.

My name is April Vokey and I am a fishing guide in the Fraser Valley.
As a fly-fishing columnist, instructor, guide and steelhead stalker, there is hardly a day that goes by that I’m not chasing fish.
It would sincerely be my pleasure to have you join me on these epic days to introduce and host you, novice or experienced angler, to our fantastic fishery and beautiful waters.
I look forward to sharing this wonderful and memorable experience with you.
When April’s not catching huge fish, she can be found helping out the Stealhead Society by accepting fly donations.
Anyone else suffering from April Vokey syndrome (AVS), please comment here to be notified of a cure as soon as one is found.
Beautiful women and beautiful fish, oh happy days!
She can be my guide any day!!!
This is the coolest woman on the planet. And gorgeous, too! You can check out her writing in Canada Fly Fisher mag.
Beautiful fish being held by an even more beautiful woman..
It’s pathetic really, one sexy woman holding a fish and the whole world goes to pieces!…And don’t try and tell me it isn’t true!
Well its not every day you see a pretty girl with a big fish Woody!
The syndrome is spreading! Apparently she’s on facebook and has a group for people who would like to fish with her. I’m not on facebook so I wouldn’t really know more than that.
pfft – I already added her as a Friend before I made this post!
Oh mate, where i go to fish it’s just wall to wall babes with rod’s and fish, i get sick of the sight of it!…(mind you, that is in my dreams!) As for facebook, she sent me a friend request and i said no!
[…] has had a makeover, no pun intended. The site looks sharp and features plenty of great photos April Vokey and friends and […]
Yep, can’t say I have ever seen fish that big nor women that beautiful while out fishing here in RI. I def. would have to rub my eyes a few times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.
Woody,
What is your problem? She is a gorgeous girl that can Spey cast and catch nice chromers. Maybe that is the problem u are threatened by a woman who can out fish you. And I truely doubt she sent u a request and don’t act all cool because you denied it all that makes you is a hater! You sound insecure to me. Get a life, there is no need to trash her, I like the fact that a young pretty girl is doing well for herself in the Spey fishing scene.
I’m pretty sure he was making a joke…
Fochetti, it was all a joke, just like you!
I heart April Vokey!
Hey – don’t come down too hard on Woody – he just came out of the closet last week and is still touchy about women better looking than him.
Seriously, how can a post about a gorgeous woman with an incredible ability to fish turn into a flame war. Please guys grow up a little.
Pertty sweet, too bad there’s not more like her !
I think it’s great that April is making fly fishing more trendy for woman…nice work April!
Oh wow… very nice fish, I wish more nice ladies would enjoy this awsome sport!
Will you marry me April
Girlfriend rocks! I read a few articles about her and she continues to impress on the fish she catches!
April is obviously an attractive woman, with a two-handed prowess the likes of which most of us can only dream.
But, what really makes her an incredible individual and a stand-out in the ranks of international fly casters (and not just some internet phenom), is her absolute devotion to the future of wild fish, and not just in B.C. April is a tireless conservationist and a topnotch ambassador of anadromous fisheries stewardship. I wish there were another hundred, equally passionate individuals just like her, involved in wild fish conservation here in the Northwest. I know we would be much closer to saying goodbye to the Lower Snake River dams. Great work, April! See you in June!
Dear April

I am truly a fan of April’s work in efforts to find ways to help her wild fishery and all of ours. She is definitely somewhat inspired. And I know she is making all of us think. That’s a tough job. We all need to get involved in our homewaters, especially here in new jersey. If she is a voice then I am a listener.
