50 Incher Hits a Weagle

I never knew what a Weagle was until I fished with my buddy Bill a few years back. Needless to say, after I saw him catch a nice size musky on one, I made sure never to forget the name. For those who don’t know what it is, its a big ole top water musky lure. Check out the video below to see it in action!

Sometimes I am a little afraid to swin in the Ottawa and St. Lawrence, and well any lake or river for that matter because there are some big fishies out there.
I won’t go too far in at the beach here in Japan either. Not after the fishermen telling me their hammerhead and white tip stories.

    Weagle baby, Weagle!!
Sadly, the original wooden Weagles are getting harder to find. They’re plastic now. Musky guide Steve Cady created them out of wood, but sold the idea to Muskie Mojo Tackle, who does them out of plastic now. I can only assume they work the same, but I only have a wooden one. Since that first one with Clive, there’s been lots of action on it, but with it being a ‘walk-the-dog’ topwater, most action comes in the form of breathtaking misses, not hook-ups.
    Great video too!!
