this is utter bullshit sensationalization….the clip cuts back and forth and you can see that he was using 2 different outfits during the fight…one spinning…the other conventional….and he is not even using the conventional tackle the right way round…he was using it with the reel under the rod and reeling it backwards…bollocks!

I think the idea is to show how hard it is to catch these fish. He lost several fish over several days despite trying different tackle and methods including different reels (they show about a dozen rods/reels at the start).

The reeling upside down is pretty funny though, but he must prefer a reel with left hand retrieve but there wasn’t any conventional reels except right handers.

Its just some highlights from his trip!

I’ll agree that the editing leaves a little to be desired, but overall it was quite fun to watch. I can however sympathize, it looks like a pretty small boat with only two guys fishing and filming. This is the same way we do it here at fishing fury, and its not easy to get all the best shots. You have to make up for it with some good editing.

I certainly wish I was out there in search of those huge tigerfish. Also the trolling methods remind me a lot of trolling for musky or even marlin.

Toronto Islands Pike, Opening Weekend

My good friend Martin Szomolanyi and I started our morning launching out of Humber Bay and taking a very cold but also very fast boat ride out to the islands. We started fishing from the East end to the West end covering the inner channels and the outer city facing shorelines. We spotted a ton [...]
