I Love To Shop!

OK, I really don’t like shopping, but I do like spending money, which is really unfortunate, because I don’t have a lot. I did however, make two big purchases this week, and they cost me nothing. I got a new underwater video camera (the same one Jon just purchased, the Sanyo WH1), which was a late birthday/Fathers day present and a new kayak.

Some of you may remember I picked up a used canoe last year and had hoped to use it regularly. I’m ashamed to say it, but I haven’t used it once this year. It was a pretty beat up canoe, but despite its looks, it worked just fine. The reason I never used it is because no one would go canoing with me, and since the canoe was a good 80+lbs, transporting it to and from the roof of my car wasn’t an option. Well today I sold it, and with the money I received I was able to buy myself a new entry level kayak that was on sale because its an older model. I don’t have an excuses not to be using this new toy, its half the length of the old canoe, and weighs only 26 pounds!

    I was thinking of having my face airbrushed on it actually…or maybe I should just make it black with yellow dots?

    Yeah, just what we need. A giant Black Fury zippin’ across the ocean…..lol!
    Great lookin’ kayak, Clive. I’ve never seen as many on the water as I have this year, they seem to be everywhere!

    Man Clive, you need some new friends, no one would go canoing with you!? The fish you catch, the beautiful scenic areas – seems like a canoe would be a lot of fun! Anyways, I actually found myself in the same situation and picked up a kayak a few years ago. It’s awesome to not have to rely on anyone else to come along, but getting pictures of the catch(es) can be quite difficult. Gratz on the cool yak and I look forward to your reports while fishing in it!

    Thats awesome. The little lady and I have been looking at fishing kayaks for the past few weeks, as well as the little two-person pontoon boats.

    Sarah will be thrilled to see that!

    I’ll go canoeing with you AND kayaking with you if you airbrush a barbarian princess with a horned viking helmet, long red hair, coconut bikini top and holding two giant polar bears on leashes on the kayaks!
