50 Pound Muskie Caught in Michigan!

It’s fairly common to hear about 50 inch muskie being caught each year, but its very rare to hear about a 50 pounder! Check out the size of this incredible muskie!

“On Sunday, September 27, Kyle Anderson of Rapid City, MI caught this 50-pound 8-ounce Great Lakes muskie. The fish is now the new Michigan state record. It beat the old record, set in 1984, by 2.5 pounds. Anderson was fishing in Torch Lake, near Traverse City.”

I used to spend summers out near Traverse City when I was a kid, but I had no idea that there were fish like this were swimming around!

I never thought i’d like Musky half as much as the Pike, but there is something cool about the Silver with little Black spots, that’s one sexy Fish!

I’d like to know whether it released back or not. It would be a crying shame if it wasn’t and those two should be strung up by their bollocks.

I always make a piont to mention if a fish was released, in this case it was not. They did try, but the fish had taken the hooks deep in the gils.

I’d like to also add the the fishermen wasnt just some lucky muskie novice, he has spent a great deal of time chasing these fish, and even cut his hooks in an attempt to see this fish swim away. (picture of the lure on the Field and Stream link)
