who in their right mind would put that stuff in there living room . I know my wife would kill me if I brought any of my fishing gear into the living room. especially an oil based product

Now you can also purchase the liquid in a spray I believe. At least that way you can renew the scent of your gulp baits without worrying about leaking liquids.

I’ve seen the gulp products leaking on the shelf at Canadian Tire. I prefer to pack light, and most of my tackle can be carried comfortably on the river… this is why I only purchase the small ziploc bags of glup leeches.
I understand your frustration… if you spend 25.oo on a jug of gulp you should expect the lid to be watertight.

Darren, firstly we brought it inside because there are bears in the area that are not afraid to come up to the cottages, the thought was that the smell of the liquid and other baits in the bag might attract them. If you don’t think thats a big deal than ask Mike (owner of the cottage) about the bear that tore open all of the gas cans and flattened (I’m not even kidding) his aluminium boat (probably after it got high off all that gasoline).

If you don’t think I should blame the manufacturer perhaps I should beat them. Plano is already doing this with a new line of containers specifically targeted at these baits and their flawed packaging.

Dont believe me? Watch this video and hear a Plano rep clearly state that the berkley gulp alive buckets leak and finish with the pitch for their new sealed containers.

I think the point here is that the packaging is poor, the rug is not the real issue. A liquid container that leaks is a poor container any way you cut it!

I must say Jamie your comment made me almost piss my pants in laughter. I was expecting some serious comment and your comment caught me completely off gaurd. Good for you. and hey buddy what were you thinking to put your bait in the middle of the living room floor. Keep it outside or in a container in the fridge or something. We all have experienced leeking bait buckets of some sort. Come on man don’t blame the maker. It is not there fault. You complained about the price of the product but imagine if they have to use better packaging. It will just cost everyone more to buy the product when all we have to do is be careful when handling and be careful where we keep our bait. So smarten up and keep it off the living room floor.

Hmm. Interesting. I had the same thing happen to my carpet when I changed the oil of my car in my living room. Then the same thing happened when we ate fondue on the rug.

Rug stains galore.

I’m petitioning against the rug manufacturer. They should have a warning label that says: ” If you are an idiot and have a tendancy to place containers of liquid over “living room” rugs, then do not by this product.”
