Cruze-arati travel writter Mike Barish takes us on an adventure in Hawaii to learn about the ancient art of Gyotaku from artist Naoki Hayashi. Mike hops in to his Chevy Cruze and heads down to the ocean to meet Naoki and to do some spearfishing in search of a catch to transform into a work of art.

Gyotaku literally translates to fish rubbing and dates back to the mid-19th century, where fisherman recorded there catch by painting them in sumi ink and pressing them to paper. The resulting artwork is beautiful. Check out the videos!
