If you like the Super Shad Rap by Rapala, you’ll love the Super Cisco from Tackle Industries. The size and shape are very similar, but the Super Cisco is a little bit fatter. The front lips are also a similar shape, but the Cisco’s lip is a little bit bigger and fatter. Even the weight is about the same, with the Cisco weighing 1.71 oz and the Shad Rap 1.60 oz. Both dive to about 8 feet, both sport 2 treble hooks and both have through wire construction. So this is the part where you’re probably thinking that this is simply a knockoff of the Super Shad Rap, but you’d be wrong.
The Super Cisco really sets itself apart in the details. It has 3D holographic eyes, a built in rattle, can be trolled over 10mph and comes in a ridiculous amount of colors and patterns with fresh and saltwater variations! How many patterns? Try 42. Which as many of you know is the “Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything“. How many patterns does Rapala offer? 12.
And in case you need another reason to try out one of these lures, here it is – they are only $9.99 USD each.
Here are a few of the available Super Cisco patterns.

Huge fan of the Super Shad Rap for musky and tackle industries hasn’t let me down on a single product I’ve bought from them so far. Rapala should really think about bringing the european colours to north america. I think it would make for a nice sales boost in a bad economy (many fisherman will still by lures, no matter the economy) and having a whole new colour set is almost irresistible. For now smaller companies like Tackle Industries can remain light on their feet trying all kinds of new patterns, textures, paints, etc, some of which look better than their Rapala counterparts.
Oh, and they’re even beating them on the price 9.99 vs 12.49

I’m have never been a huge fan of these. I have better luck with super flukes.
Super flukes are great, but this is a very different style of lure…
Indeed the super fluke is a fantastic lure but its incomparable with the super shad rap/super cisco.
can you please share how you take those nice photos with the white bg and now shadow
Hey Jackson – you basically need some good white lights and a white background. Check out this tutorial for some simple ideas:

I’ve also started using my LCD screen as a background which helps eliminate shadows.
That’s great information. It’s hard to find good patterns for hardbaits that work in our area. We fish a lot of lip divers in the Fall and minor differences in patterns make a big difference. Great article!
[...] going to pick a few here. The DUO Realis Vibration, the DUO Terrif DC-12, Phantom Lures, and the Super Cisco all come to mind immediately when I think back on [...]
they make these in MONSTEROUS sizes, too. Those musky guys use the largest lures I’ve ever seen. (personally, I think that Musky is really overrated) Compared to viscousness of a saltwater predator, I guess that’s all they have, so it is what it is. Figure 8′s boat side. C’C'mon???
For a 60 second fight???
Either way, Because of this review I just may get me a few of these to have on hand, for Redfish, or Barracuda! A real predator, with teeth and attitude.
http://www.captdaves.com – I have a blog too.
these lures are awful. the lips break if you hit a rock. i understand this can happen with any crankbait with a plastic/lexan/etc lip, but these are a lot more brittle. the eyes fall off. the added thickness of the body and lip only causes it to create less vibration. the original super shad rap is and will always be the better choice considering you would be applying them in the same situations. rattles? the vibration of the super shad rap and its sheer ability to trigger fish is all you need. if you have to make a case about the price, you should consider a new hobby or a new job. the tackle industries cisco was born when the creator sent a rapala super shad rap to a company overseas to copy it to a tee with cheaper materials and awful hooks.
Hi guys. Just did a google image search and found this. Thanks!
Just wanted to let you know we are coming out with an 8.5″ version of this lures in 2013. We already have a monster 11″ version for musky, pike striper bass, etc. Please take a look at our tackle on http://www.tackleindustries.com
Thanks,

Please email me at james@tackleindustries.com Not sure what you are doing to these lures but you can pound a nail into a board with our lures. That is if you have ever even used one of my lures! They are manufactured using high impact ABS. From your post, it sounds like you work for a competitor… Last note to you, most Rapala lures ARE MADE IN CHINA now.
rapman-Have you ever used these lures? I have over 30 and have never had an issue with any of them. They are my go to bait for big pike.
I have had multiple Rapala Raps get destroyed by fish but not one Super
Cisco. You may want to buy a few and try them because I am 100% sure
you did not use one by your post.
