Fisherman Eyewear – First Impressions

Fisherman Eyewear’s claim to fame is that they were the first company to market polarized eyewear to fishermen back in 1974. The rest, as they say, is history. With nearly 40 years in the industry they’ve seen and adapted to more change than probably any of the other sunglasses manufacturers we’ll be reviewing this year so I’m very interested to see how they stack up.

We received two pairs of their new Islander style frames, one in tortoise with brown lenses and the other black with grey lenses. Both pair look and feel very nice, they’re comfortable even on my big head, and come with a cotton storage bag though it won’t double as a cleaning cloth. The most impressive thing about them however is the price tag, these glasses sell for only $19.99! They’re the cheapest sunglasses we’ll be reviewing this year, in fact you could buy both pair shown here and still come in under the next cheapest pair.

How will they perform on the water? You’ll have to wait to find out, but right now you can keep reading for more great product shots.
