Two Dudes- Strapped In- For WAR!

First of all let me say that I am a huge combat sports and professional Mixed Martial Arts fan, and there’s nothing professional about this next video you’re going to see. If you don’t like macho things like arm wrestling and and boxing, you probably won’t like this video. However, I ask that you watch it anyway, without reading the description that comes after the break.

Surfer Combines Fishing, Sharks and Surfing

This can’t possibly be real… Right?

Talk about bragging rights. This surfer takes extreme sports to the next level when he goes fishing with a meat-laden fishing pole and snares himself a great white shark. He’s in for the ride of his life as the shark plows along to the delight of onlookers.

What do you think?

Extreme Aerial Bow Fishing

This is the greatest bow fishing video I have ever seen. ‘Nuff said.

Let me also recommend another video, “one mans sport is another mans fear”, for a really good laugh.

Don’t Try This At Home

DefectI’ve been enjoying all the videos at MetaCafe today. The kid videos are hilarious, but I’m more of a dangerous, kill yourself in the process, kind of person. For example: Unicycle Accident, The Urban Ninja, and The amazing brothers.

Speaking of Unicycling (sorry but I’m really sold on it being the next big extreme sport), I found another mind blowing unicycle video at SYKO Productions called Universe 2. Also, check out the video collection at Unicycle UK, which includes the awesome Defect trailer (quicktime)!

Of course there’s always the fishing videos at Angling Edge, if you’re not amused by watching people do things that could potentially paralyze them.

Snowboarding Blues

SandboardingAre you getting restless waiting to shred some snow? If you happen to live in a climate where snow is simply never going to happen, or you’re just so anxious and crazy you’ve got to find another way to get your kicks. We’ve got the perfect remedy, you won’t even have to find 200 tons of crushed ice.

Friends Sam and Lewis hit the hills for some Sandboarding!

If you are anything like us, you probably can’t wait until Snowboarding season starts… You know the itch… It begins when last season’s snowboard videos are playing in the middle of summer… Then your board is removed from that lonely corner in the closet to be displayed in the center of your room while you visualize getting huge air and pulling deep carves…And like anyone who enjoys a sport with such a passion you are strapped to your board running through the motions on the floor before you know it…Be warned however that for safety’s sake advanced snowboard maneuvers should NEVER be tried in a confining dorm room!… For those of us unlucky enough to live in a place where constant snow and daily riding of deep fresh powder is only a dream, we have found the solution to not being able to snowboard in summer; SAND BOARDING!

Be sure to watch the videos.

California Surfer Recalls Shark Attack

Megan Halavais, 20, was attacked by a shark while paddling into the water off Salmon Creek Beach in Sonoma Counry in Northern California. Megan, an experienced surfer, was attacked from behind and escaped the jaws of a 16-foot shark after she hit the shark on its tail

“It was weird. I was sitting out there thinking, ‘Wow, this feels shark-y to me,’” Megan Halavais, 20, said Thursday. “It was straight out of ‘Jaws.’”

“A 16-foot shark is a big shark. It’s not just 16 feet in length. It’s big. I couldn’t fit my arms around its tail. Its fin, its main dorsal fin, was like taller than me,” Halavais recounted for reporters at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital as she sat in a wheelchair, her bandaged leg extended in front of her.

The attacked happened on Wednesday and by Thursday Megan was already in good spirits, with a shark bite that streched from her thigh to her calf. She is listed in good condition. Police believe the shark was probably a great white, possibly the same shark in one or more attacks in recent years, the beach is now closed and surfers in nearby locations have been warned.

Wow, I thought that shark caught in New Zealand was big & now I hear about a girl who escapes being eaten by an even bigger one.

Re: Japanese Tackle Shops

That's the trouble right there, the finish on these Lures!...I started buying Rapala jointed and when i had a couple i just had to buy them in all the different finishes (Hot Perch, Perch, Walleye etc etc), i had so many in the end it was like i was collecting them to put in a glass case or something, i didn't dare use them, a Pike won't care if your Lure cost 5 quid or 30 quid, it's still gonna scratch all that fancy artwork/paintwork either way!...I sold all mine as a set on ebay in the end as i [...]

Re: Stormy Kromer Hat Contest!

I'm not much for a pithy comment, but I thought I'd leave a note about how honored I be to wear Kromer on my upcoming annual pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. I'm sure that my hunting buddies will joke about how silly I look while they wear their stylized broad brim hunting caps, but I'll be laughing on the inside as my head stays nice and warm. I'll be laughing al the more when the stiff South Dakota wind picks up and Kromer is staying put. Finally, with the fall bite on, I know my new Kromer will call the [...]
