I first found Shawn Bichsel’s art on instagram so I asked him if he would let me post some here. As it turns out he also has his own blog, lines in the dirt, where you can find more fantastic art like the stuff below.
Hey guys! Shawn Bichsel here…aka @sbixel from Twitter and Instagram. Thanks for taking an interest in my iPad Fly Art. I just started doing these in December, when I found the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro.
Storm Lures, Luhr Jensen, and Blue Fox have all announced new “UV Bright” additions to their line up. The new UV Bright finish promises to increase the lure’s visibility by reflecting more light, including ultra-violet light, and triggering aggressive strikes from predatory fish. All UV Bright lures have a reflective base, fluorescent paints, optical brighteners and lures covering the entire spectrum of visible colours.
When you’re filming for a tv show you want to catch fish as often as possible, and as big as possible. Well things could not have gone better during this filming of No Excuses Outdoor TV in Saskatchewan. Throughout the video they’re landing nice walleye pretty consistently, but at about nine and a half minutes a 14 pound mega-walleye shows up for his 15 minutes of fame.
TightLinz is a great site for fisherman looking for premium brands at a serious discount. They carry all kinds of gear, apparel and accessories from well-known brands. Deals get updated weekly, but the best items sell out quickly so check back often!
I met Eric Hornung on Instagram last week and asked him to send me a few of the tattoos he was posting so I could show our visitors. He agree so please post a comment and let him know what you think. Eric may be known as the tattooed angler, but these are actually tattoos he’s done on other people. The first one is my favourite.
Our last contest isn’t over yet, but here is the final Christmas giveaway we’ll feature this year. Somebody thought it would be a good idea to give away one of my favorite lures as a prize! There may have been beer involved, but I agreed! This contest is a little bit different then our previous giveaways, this time you will need to guess how many lures are on and under the Fury Christmas tree! The tree features some new lures, and some of my very own used lures, including some that have caught many of my biggest fish! There is even an assortment big pike and muskie lures!
The rules are simple, each person has one guess, and in the event that the same number is picked twice, only the first person that picked it will be counted. There will be only one (1) winner. You must comment on this post with your guess, or comment on our Facebook page under the status update about this contest. If no one guesses the the exact amount, the substitute prize for the closest guess is one of the greatest lures ever made, a brand new Mepps Musky Killer (yellow and black) from one of my all time favorite fishing companies, Brecks.
Guess how many lures for your chance to win!
This contest will run until the final minute of 2011 (EST) and the winner will be provided with list of the lures shortly after!
