The Bassassins have put together yet another fantastic video, this time featuring some of the most exciting multi-species ice fishing I’ve ever seen. Their run and gun approach to ice fishing paid some serious dividends last year and this video proves it. Keep up the good work guys and hopefully we can get together in the summer!
An amazing season has come to an end. Always on the hunt for adventure, fish and fun were plentiful. As much as it pains me to let this one go, open waters will soon lead the way to new challenges. What better way to celebrate this harsh but glorious winter but with a “Big Old Mix Tape”.
The Bassassins are back again with another video fishing the mighty Mississippi river right here in Ontario.
“Fallin for the Miss” is showcasing sport fishing on the Mississippi River in Ontario. We are truly blessed to have such fantastic fishery right at our doorstep. This clip features the usual suspects that are to be caught this time a year. The smallmouth bass are gaining girth and feeding aggressively, the Walleye really seem to enjoy the cooler days of fall too, and pike are lurking around every corner all year long. Autumn is a wicked time to be out and about, not just to awe the breath taking spectacle when the trees are changing colour, also the cool and crisp mornings and noons are very much welcome after a hot, hot summer. The fishing seems to go in to overdrive as everything is preparing for the coming winter.

When you’re filming for a tv show you want to catch fish as often as possible, and as big as possible. Well things could not have gone better during this filming of No Excuses Outdoor TV in Saskatchewan. Throughout the video they’re landing nice walleye pretty consistently, but at about nine and a half minutes a 14 pound mega-walleye shows up for his 15 minutes of fame.
My good friend Phil alerted me to this fantastic swordfish tattoo by artist Matt Adamson. It’s difficult to understand the placement of the tattoo from the photos below but it looks to me like the tops of the shoulders, as if the swordfish has gone through the neck. Matt is [...]
This exotic fish may be native to southeast asia, but would you believe there’s one place in the United States where you can catch one right along side a largemouth bass. While they’re most commonly found here in aquariums many misinformed owners don’t realize they can grow up to 40″ [...]
The fishing season is off to a fantastic start this year! Last weekend marked the opening of trout season here in Ontario and though I was only able to get out yesterday, my friends and I still managed to have a fantastic day on the river. We woke up early [...]
We haven’t done a caption contest in a while, mostly because it takes a very special picture or video to inspire us. Today we have a video so wild we couldn’t even describe it! Hopefully you’ll have better luck though. The best description of this video left in the comments [...]

My XTRATUF II boots have been the footwear of choice for winter fishing this year and they’ve been fantastic on every outing. I’m sad that they’ll be put away in the next few weeks as summer approaches, but I’m very happy knowing they’re ready and waiting for next winter. When [...]
