The Art Shanty Project is a four-week art show slash social experiment inspired by traditional ice fishing huts. The show is open until February 5th, and is taking place on Medicine Lake, Plymouth, Minnesota.

STORMR Jacket – First Impressions

We posted a video about the STORMR jacket a few days ago, and I’m happy to tell you that we’ve gotten our hands on one for review! We’re going to find out if STORMR can defy the elements of a sloppy, slushy, unpredictable Toronto winter.

Just to refresh your memory the STORMR jacket is made of neoprene, a well known insulator and waterproof layer used for wetsuits and fishing waders. It features a soft micro-fleece lining, two exterior pockets, one interior pocket, heavy duty zipper with a neoprene flap for added protection, a full hood with drawstring, sleeve tightening straps, and reflective lines along the arms and head. What a mouthful! The STORMR will retail for about $200 USD.

I’ve warn the STORMR out a few times when walking the dog and I can tell you that it’s warm, flexible, and comfortable. The weather has been pretty moderate here recently, but the next few days looks like it’s going to be snowy, rainy, and everywhere in between so it should be a good test. I’m going to give the STORMR a solid week of everyday wear before I write my final review.

New Winter World Record Live Release Walleye Caught- ON TAPE!

When you’re filming for a tv show you want to catch fish as often as possible, and as big as possible. Well things could not have gone better during this filming of No Excuses Outdoor TV in Saskatchewan. Throughout the video they’re landing nice walleye pretty consistently, but at about nine and a half minutes a 14 pound mega-walleye shows up for his 15 minutes of fame.

The fish was caught on a PK Lures PK spoon, and the man who caught it is Tim Geni. You can check out more great videos on PK lures website and you can read more about this world record catch on the Saskatchewan Tourisum website.

Salamander Sinkers unique design uses steal weights to counter balance the natural buoyancy of the rubber body, which is snag-free and absorb vibrations to give increased sensitivity. We’ll see if they live up to the hype by putting them to the test this year.

RedRam Everyday Merino Reviewed

It’s not everyday that I get to write articles about underwear, but you can probably bet that when I do, you’ll want to read it. Either for some enlightening retrospective on boxers versus briefs, or the punchline.
