Review: Snake River Prototyping BlurFix For GoPro Cameras

When I first purchased my GoPro Hero HD it wasn’t long before I discovered a major flaw- all my underwater footage was blurry! This never happened with my Sanyo Xacti when shooting underwater and I was very confused about what was going on. As it turns out the curved lens distorts the video when shooting underwater. I checked on GoPro’s website and sure enough there is a mention of it in their FAQ. Technically GoPro only says the housing is waterproof and doesn’t actually market it as “underwater”, but they say they are developing a flat glass adapter for underwater use. Never-the-less I set out to find an existing solution and came across the Snake River Prototyping BlurFix.

Hand-Tied Flies From Kenya – First Impressions

A few months ago I received an email from Kenya asking if I wanted to buy some handmade trout flies. Naturally I was very suspicious as Clive and I receive emails like this from all over the world, and typically the ones from Africa and China are simply scams, or some of the worst manufacturing you’ve ever seen. This email seemed different some how, so I decided to email them back and ask for some photos. It took a few days but they finally responded, the images were low quality and it was hard to envision these as quality flies but the person I was in contact with swore that they were 100% hand-made and would not disappoint.

I thought about it for a while and decided to strike up a deal. They would send me some of their flies, and in exchange I would photograph them and review them. It took several weeks for my package to arrive from Kenya, but when I finally opened the package I was blown away with the quality.

They call themselves the “Kenya Tyieng Flies Company” [sic] and if you’re interested in purchasing some of their flies you should contact Mr. Paul Mugo. Best of all these handmade flies only cost around $3-10 USD per dozen (depending on the type of course) plus shipping and handling. Considering the average rate around here is $2-6 PER FLY these flies are an amazing deal! Onnit Labs Supplements – First Impressions

I first heard about Onnit Labs supplements on the Joe Rogan podcast, where Joe Rogan and several guests have praised the effects of Alpha Brain. Alpha Brain is a nootropic, sometimes referred to as smart drugs, memory enhancers, cognitive enhancers, and intelligence enhancers. these nootropic supplements are designed to improve mental functions like memory, cognition, intelligence, motivation and concentration. They also give you very intense and vivid dreams apparently. The video below will give you a quick crash course in what Alpha Brain is all about.

I was admittedly already interested in trying Alpha Brain before I was offered the chance to review it, and since it’s availability in Canada is very limited I was more than happy to accept. I plan on testing AlphaBrain at work and on the water, or anywhere concentration needs to be at an all time high. Now I realize some of our readers might see this as something out of the ordinary for us (a fishing blog) to review, but I see it as no different than reviewing a sports energy drink. Of the friends and fisherman that I’ve talked to about Alpha Brain everyone was eager to hear my thoughts on it and find out if it really works or if it’s just a placebo.

Much to my surprise when I received my package from Onnit Labs it had their entire line-up! Inside were 30 capsule bottles of Alpha Brain, ShroomTech Sport, New Mood, and ShroomTech Immune- a package worth almost $100. I’ll have to come up with some ideas for reviewing the other supplements but either way, stay tuned for the full review!
