I’ve been planning on taking my son Ash fishing for some, but the weather here hasn’t been very good until recently. He thinks my fishing reels are his toys, and messes with them constantly. I even have a couple of old reels that I don’t use anymore sitting in his toy box. Today was a beautiful warm day, so I decided it would be a perfect day for our first fishing trip together. We headed down to Albro Lake, which has been producing lots of small bass recently.
We got to the lake at two in the afternoon and I put Ash into a sling so I had my hands free to cast. He was able to sit comfortably in front of me and keep an eye out for jumping fish. We fished for about 25 minutes and I was able to catch 2 little bass, and lost one. Ash was very curious and was happy to handle the fish. He got upset every time I let the fish go because he wanted to play with them. I tried to explain to him that they needed to go back in the water to live, but explaining anything to a 9 month old is pretty difficult.
We spent a few hours at Georgia Aquarium yesterday, and it is without a doubt the most incredible place I have ever been. I would have liked to stay longer, but my son Ash is only 8 months old and needs his naps! We took hundreds of photos and about 30 minutes of video, so stay tuned for some more photos later this week, and some video once I return to Canada in a week.
When I was little I used to love flying kites. I had one of those two handle stunt kites. I wasn’t very good at flying it and I usually crashed it hard into the ground after about 30 seconds. Now that I’m big, I’d like a bigger kite, a fish kite!
One of our contributers (see Rocket Fishing Rod review) is celebrating a birthday today. Happy birthday Jonny! I hope you get some new fishing gear, because I know 12 fishing rods simply isn’t enough for one man!
My son Ash just turned six months old. I’m really hoping he’ll share my passion for fishing when he gets older so we can fish together, but for now he is more interested in being a fish then catching a fish.
For all you evolution doubters out there, take a look at this chimp in action and tell me humans didn’t evolve from apes! Not only can he take a train all by himself, but he can also go fishing by himself!
Hello again, i have never been able to wear a hat before because i didn't know how it should go, but thanks to the 3 illustrations on the art of wearing a hat i feel confident now and if i should be lucky enough to win i could wear it knowing it is on correctly!!!...Cheers mate!
A guy at work was telling me about the evening secret and how great it was. so i thought i would check it out. what a scam i got a crappie light that does the same thing. That guy is an asshole anyway i'm gonna tell him its great and see if he actually buys it. haha
