While it’s unlikely that Jon or I will be able to attend this years Fishing For Tyler event, we wanted to help out. If you live in Ontario, enjoy ice fishing, and like to help people, you should make the trip to Simcoe. And even if you haven’t ice fished before, the weekend will be a license free weekend courtesy of the MNR so this is the perfect time to give it a try! There are several great prizes including some musky/pike lures I made myself.
4th annual Fishing for Tyler Get together. Tyler French is eleven years old, lives in Alcona ON and is autistic. We are holding an ice fishing fund raiser/G2G on Sat February 23rd, 2008 at the Innisfil Beach Park boat launch, to help raise money for Tyler’s much needed ABA therapy. From the world of wonderful bizarre novelty ice trays, we bring to you, the fishbone tray! If you love fish, and normal ice cubes just aren’t good enough for you, your prayers have been answered. Personally, I prefer the ones shaped like boobies, but I’m sure my son will love these.
In a David and Goliath-esque battle, a four year old little girl caught a 50 pound fish. Thats not the impressive part though. She caught the 40 inch beast on a Barbie fishing rod!
After a no doubt EPIC battle, 12 year old Aidan Murray Medley reeled in what could be a new state record - a 551lb bull shark! The shark was a massive nine feet long and will beat a record that has stood since 1981.
Here at FishingFury we love video games, especially fishing video games, and games with fishing mini-games like the up and coming Twilight Princess on the Nintendo Wii. For those of you that aren’t hip to the next generation of console gaming, the Wii uses a wireless motion-sensing remote, meaning you actually play the game by your actions and not just buttons. Check out the video to see what I mean.
Sure, there have been tons of rpg’s with fishing mini-games, just none so eloquent.
I’ve started getting fishing reports via the Fishing Fury MySpace page from some charters and guide services. This report is from SC Guide Services out of Northern California.
Klamath River - October 2nd, 2006
RECORDED: 75 ° FISHING: Excellent
On Monday, I fished my buddies Jim, Keith, and Matt and they landed 6 out of 12 Salmon. Five of the six Salmon weighed over 18 pounds, and 3 of those were over 20 pounds. Jim landed the hog of the day a nice big 25 pound buck. See the photo gallery for the pics. K-15 kwikfish and Roe were the baits of choice. I am fishing the section of river from the Hatchery to Fishhook it has been the most productive.
