Behold The First-Ever Hybrid Shark

For the first time, scientists have observed a shark hybrid in the wild. The shark was discovered last Tuesday in Australian waters and has both Common and Australian black tip DNA. Scientists say this could be a potential sign that predators are beginning to adapt to cope with climate change and that this unprecedented discovery for the entire shark world.

Let me tell you there’s nothing quite like the taste of a freshly plucked mouth-watering piece of flame grilled fish, and there’s nothing worse than watching those pieces fall through the grill before you can eat them.

The BBQ Buddy Fish Griller is a two-piece metal basket that latches together, securely holding your fish in place. When the time comes to turn your prize catch on the grill you can simply flip the basket, keeping not only the fish, but your pride intact. Made from heavy-duty metal the fish griller is also a handy camping companion.

Zesty Barbecued Whole Snapper

Ingredients:

800g-1kg Large Whole Snapper, scaled & cleaned (substitute with your catch of the day)
1 Lime (for garnish)

Marinade:

2 Cloves Garlic, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon Ginger, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon Fresh Chilli, finely chopped
2 Tablespoon Coriander, finely Chopped (use the stems as well as leaves)
1/2 Lime, finely zested
3 Tablespoon Olive Oil

Method:

Place all the marinade ingredients in a bowl and mix well. You can use a food processor to save time.
With a sharp knife, cut incisions about 1cm apart on both sides of the fish. This will allow the marinade flavours to seep in thoroughly. Trim the tail & fins, so they don’t burn.
Rub the marinade onto the fish, inside & out. Place slices of lime inside the fish, then put into the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Heat up your BBQ to a medium-high heat (190 C).
Prepare your BBQ Buddy fish grill basket by lightly oiling the basket. The easiest way to do this is to put some olive oil on your hand and rub onto the bars.
Place the marinated fish inside the basket, close and secure.
Place the basket on the BBQ over direct heat and cook for about 10 minutes on each side. Make sure you use a glove when turning the basket, as it will be extremely hot. You can tell when the fish is cooked as its eyes will be white and slightly popped out.
Remove the basket from the BBQ using gloves, and carefully remove the fish from basket – easily done with tongs and a spatula. Serve with lime wedges and a salad of your choice.

If you’re planning a trip to Carbrook Golf Club in Queensland, Australia be sure to bring extra balls and don’t even think about wadding into a water hazard to retrieve you ball. Even if you can see it! As it turns out the water hazard there is home to up to 30 real sharks!

I can’t be sure but they look like bull sharks to me, and they are notorious for eating just about anything and having a real attitude problem. Either way, stay clear!

Marlin Release Gets Dangerous When Mako Sharks Join the Party

Photogapher Al McGlashan was on assignment in Australia shooting what should have been a textbook catch and release of a striped marlin, when out of no where a 10-foot make shark appeared and attacked the marlin right at the boat. The massive mako immediately attacked and dismembered the tail from the marlin ultimately insuring its demise. Check out the photo gallery after the video below.

This is why I love fish, they can do some pretty amazing things!

The archerfish (Spinner Fish or Archer Fish) are a family (Toxotidae) of fish known for their habit of preying on land based insects and other small animals by literally shooting them down with water droplets from their specialized mouths. The family is small, consisting of seven species in the genus Toxotes; which typically inhabit brackish waters of estuaries and mangroves, but can also be found in the open ocean as well as far upstream in fresh water[1]India to the Philippines, Australia, and Polynesia.
