Raphael Biagini didn’t know what he was getting himself in to when he set the hook on a fish in the south of France. As it turns out he had hooked in to the most legendary fish in the lake, and after a ten minute gruelling battle, he stepped in to the water and lifted this huge 30lb orange koi from the water. This fish was no stranger to the locals, in fact some had spent over six years trying to catch the legendary “giant goldfish.”

Our good friends at Le Mouching wrote to us to say that they are now posting bilingually in French and English!

Despite the fact that I took French throughout elementary school (in the US, not Canada for those interested), I can only say a few phrases with confidence* and as I’m sure many of you were I read Le Mouching through Google translate. The new english publication of Le Mouching is much more enjoyable to read, and I can even try brushing up on my French vocabulary at the same time!

Right now Le Mouching is also having a photo contest where you can win a two day guided fly fishing trip in France (airfare not included of course). So far my favourite photo is one that doesn’t even have a fish in it!

Keep up the good work guys!

* Believe it or not my French is even worse than my Spanish, at least I can understand Spanish!

Hi all.
Thanks for your web site . That’s the best one i’ve found when it deals with fishing.
That’s an everyday life pleasure to glance at the incredible pictures you digged up.
Here is the picture of a Sandre (in french), i think the proper translation is Pike Perch or Zander
That’s not a monster but I don’t think you already have one picture of this species on your website, it looks really similar to Walleye.
I’ve caught this Pike perche of 3.5kg for 71 cm in a small river of Normandy two days ago.
I wish you the best
Regards
Pierre

Beautiful photo Pierre! It’s nice to see that the fall photos are coming in too. Not that you would know here in Toronto. Not to mention google is saying its going to be 19C for the rest of the week.

If the naysayers are right, by tomorrow night (in the western hemisphere) you will no longer be able to read Fishing Fury. You will no longer be able to read. You will no longer be able to get go fishing. You will cease to exist.

Luckily I’m a glass half full kind of guy, and this whole thing probably wont even be as bad as Y2k was. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, on Wednesday September 10th, 2008, a Large Hadron Collider will be activated, sending protons traveling at extraordinary speeds in the opposite direction in massive 17-mile underground loop located beneath the border of France and Switzerland. What does it all mean? I have no clue, but it sounds pretty cool. Speaking as a <strike>scientist</strike> fisherman, I think there is zero chance that the world will end.

If by some bizarre twist of fate they forgot to carry a one and we don’t make it, so long and thanks for all the fish!
