Who's hitting the Islands? Anyone?

I hate this time of the year between Pike and Bass. I'll probably his Island Lake Conservation Area for the opener, maybe Sparrow, maybe a lake nearby.

How's the Islands for Bass? I;ve seen the TV shows, but is it a circus with all the people running around?

I would say the opener is gonna be a zoo in most places, but on The Island, and saturday, throw in a nice day, it`s gonna be crazy, but see a Tuesday morning, early...nobody around for hours, thats when I get my most peacefull fishing in, but still lotsa places to go and get away from people and still find bass.

When I lived in TO I avoided the Islands like the plague on weekends!

Where I live now, bass season opened on April 1st :good:

Most likly I will hit Brighton Bay area, and the Canal betwen there and Bay of Quinte. And if not producing.. Then off to Rice Lake.

When fishing for pickeral I landed quite a few 4-5lb smallies. and some 2-3lb Bucketmouth... OOS... But not now..
They are in season! Now I can break out my worms with texas rigs.. Let the games begin! :dance1:

Hmm.. 3:30am... nahh. better get some sleep then hit the water! lol

Not a spectacular day.. But did manage to land a few small 1.5lb Largemouth. and even some good size rockbass.

All caught on a silver/black Cordell Black Dot shallow diver.

Even managed a 10" perch that got 2 prongs thrrough the top of the mouth and one through the bottom..
Basically wired its mouth shut! lol But was able to get him free with out bloodshed.

Didn't seem to be all that great of a day in general for most people out there from what I seen and people I talked to.

We got some decent smallies and largemouths this weekend on Kennebec Lake. They are everywhere you would expect them to be there. Nice spot. Can't wait to go up to Sparrow lake again and up the Trent Severn. Another fantastic spot.
