A windy day

So I went fishing at The Rez (the local reservoir 5 minutes from my house) with my fiancé on Saturday. We stopped to get some shiners because she has a lot more fun when she catches something so I wanted to up the odds. Turns out that it was CRAZY windy. For example I cast a heavy spinnerbait and it taking 20 yards of line out it still landed directly at my feet.

The good news is that we were able to hit a small cove that was out of most of the wind. We only got one fish but it was a nice keeper Largemouth. I know the boga grip is a little overkill but it’s new and I couldn’t wait to try it out.

keeper largemouth at this time of the year? where did u fish?

Well I call it a “keeper” because it’s over the size limit but I don’t really care for bass so I don’t keep them (too many ocean fish filling up the freezer). Also I live in Massachusetts so there is no closed season.
