Further our path lay on the lake Azas.
Azas - the largest lakes of Todzhinskoy basin, which is a natural monument. It is situated at an altitude of 944 meters, the length of 20 kilometers, width - 5 - 7 kilometers. It stretches from west to east. Here River starts Toora-Khem, and falls - the river Azas. On the lake scattered seven
islands, the largest - the island Haar length of 1.5 kilometers. The lake begins to freeze November
7-10, and free of ice 10-15 May.

Dave Chong is hosting his annual Catch a Dream Kid's Fishing Derby Sat June 01 , 2013 ;) http://www.catchadream.ca/ Volunteers are needed both with boats and as shore event stewards. I'll be taking a few days off with some friends to explore Algonquin Park next week. We're not planning anything too crazy like the 70km trip we did a few years ago. Instead we're going to find a nice camp site on a nearby interior lake and do day trips around the area to other smaller and more remote lakes and streams. I've had a lot of luck trolling spoons on a three-way rig for lakers and splake, but this time my goal is to hopefully catch a few brooke trout (would be my first) on the fly.

If you didn't know Algonquin Park is home to one of the world's highest concentrations of natrual Brook Trout lakes.

For those of you who don't drive there's a free bus service to Vaughan Mills Mall from Union Station daily. Leave 10am back at 3pm . Leave 1pm bak at 6pm. See citytours desk on the main floor.
