If you only had one lure...
If you only had one lure to fish with for bass opener what would it be?

I would have said a texas rigged or wacky rigged stick bait like a senko or gulp sinking minnow, but after saturday I'm gonna go with the Evolve baits frog! Bass just EXPLODE on it!

Those frogs looks like killer snakehead lures! Where can you get them Jonathan? I'd love to get a couple for future trips.

They were sent to me by EvolveBaits to be reviewed. Since bass season just opened this was my first chance to throw them.
Check out their dealers page there are a few places in Ontario where you can get them. If you ever wanna go fishing with me I'll gladly let you try them.

Hey Jonathan, I'm going on THE HUNT this weekend. Do you have a sample I can try out? I'll be hunting for the TARGET species and it may provide a good review.
Hint...Potomac River!!!
I have some plastic frogs from Booyah and Spro...but I think the weight and short "legs" of these are more suited for my target species.
BTW, I found these guys (Killer Frog) while searching for the Evolve lures...and these come with a buzz blade. They offer free world wide shipping...so if you are interested, let me know and we can do a batch order.
$20 for two sizes...that's a deal! They look so good...

I like fishing for Smallies > LMB, and I love it when the smallies smash a top water popper from a very deep ledge. But it's great that pike and LMB also hit topwater poppers
I don't have a name for my old and REALLY beat-up top water popper, seems like a discontinued Japanese lure, so it was pretty cheap, ~$7.
However, I recently got my hands on a River2Sea Bubble Popper, and I think it'll be very very good. Will be trying it out in the coming long weekend.
But live bait beats all other lures when properly used
mmMMmmm... bet that fish tastes good!

MuskieBait, I might be able to let you borrow them for the weekend. I'm on vacation entertaining some family from out of town though so I don't know when exactly I will be around. PM me and we can figure something out.

Hey Jonathan, sorry I didn't see this earlier. It would have been perfect for those Northern Snakehead since the free swinging hooks on the end of the lure would be positioned much better to hook those fish than say a rubber frog.
I'm going to get a couple and see if I can test them out on the Cobra Snakehead in Florida the next time I make a trip south.
