Scugog Bass Opener with AnglerGang
Hit up Scugog with Ben from AnglerGang (http://www.anglergang.com) for bass opener. We rented a boat from Goreski's landing and launched around 730-800AM, the day was HOT! We both got way too much sun and the bass were not easy to find. I did manage to catch a decent one on an evolvebaits frog (http://www.fishingfury.com/20111010/...t-impressions/). Even the panfish and perch were nibbling at this beautiful lure, but the bass would just explode on this lure! I missed hook ups one two other big bass. Sun burn and all it was still a good day to be out fishing, and doing so with a new friend was even better.
Here's the photos!

Nice Bass and good to know that the surface frog bait work. They don't get hug up on weed I take it, because of the kind of fan hook protection at the end?

That's some fun bassing! The Bog has lots of bass. Once I was fishing off the dock of a friend's cottage. I had just reeled in my line with half a worm. I was going to put on a fresh worm and I had my line still in the water right beside the dock. I just turned around to grab the box of worms when I heard my rod moving. I grabbed it and there was a 3lb bass on the line! Unfortunately, that bass dove right back under the dock and my line snapped getting dragged along the edge of the dock. Everything happened so fast I didn't even have a chance to dip my rod tip into the water.
A little later, I also had a similar size bass blow up on my buzzbait, missed, and followed in.

It's a hard bait so the double hook hangs down from the butt of the frog. I had my doubts that this would be weedless, and I know of no weedier lake than scugog. Sure enough i never had a problem with weeds. Even when we were drifting and my line would get hooked under a lily pad or something the frog just went right under it with no problems. I'd have to say it's just as weedless as the softbody frogs im used to.

Hey,
Looks like you had a good time regardless.
I was up at a freinds cottage and I managed to catch an awesome Musky.
Landed one. Lost one....No bass though...
Hoping to get out for some bass this Friday..
