recommend a camera?
I am giving some thought to starting to take fish pics when I am out fishing and land a decent fish.
What camera do you guys recommend?

Just about any moderately price Canon point and shoot will make you happy. If you're looking for a camera for a specific purpose though, like a POV camera, or something that can go underwater then your choices might shift slightly. There is a new canon that I've been looking at since my point and shoot has a broken lcd (which I still havent replaced). I forget the model number exactly but it has GPS (and possibly wifi) and sells for under 400 bucks.
Waterproof and GPS

Slightly nicer but cannot go underwater

Even nicer (and smaller I think) and still has GPS

Right now i just shoot everything on my Canon 7D, which is an absolute dream to shoot, but it's not so easy to carry around everywhere.Yes, Ed F took my avatar photo.

Waterproof might be handy, not so much for intentional underwater photography though.
I guess one with a decent self timer and maybe one of those "bendy leg gripper thingys" (oh yeah... tech speak) to attach it to stuff. I was also thinking about one of those head cam units....
I will check out your links!

GoPro Hero
It takes HD videos...and the Hero take 5mp pics while the Hero 2 takes 11mp pics. Not too good for low light though.

GoPro is a great POV camera for sure, but it lacks a lot of the good things people expect from a digital camera like lcd screens, playback, etc. (though most can be had through add-ons)
I'm just gonna move this thread in to the photography forum, but I will leave a redirect.Yes, Ed F took my avatar photo.
