storms bring on the carp bite during heat waves

Faced terrential rains sat aug 04 but landed a carp but had more action
sunday aug 05 lightening and rain and 4 carp landed 6 lost while others in my group lost another 9 but landed 2.....basically sunday was a carp on every 20 minutes.....

now this is not unusual as i have fished for carp immediately before and after each of our big summer storms and found this to be a standard. with the heat wave we have had this summer the oxygen levels in the water are down and it takes the rain to put oxygen back in and jump start the feed on.

word of caution fishing rods are excellent lightening rods too....do not get killed out there....exercise caution....i reccommend heading out immediately after the storm.

the carp are extra fiesty in the heat ...enjoy the rush of a first long run made by a carp and tell me they are not a fresh water bonefish.
