Big Bluffer Pike
I did some fishing with my favourite fishing buddy over the last couple of days and we each caught a big Pike. Now Pike in bluffers is not that unusual, but normally the larger ones are out in the lake where it's deeper and cooler, not around the marina. So that's why I thought I'd post the hero pics. Mine was 30" and you can see the lamprey scars from having spent time out in the big waters.
Tristan beat me with his PB at 33".
Both were caught on live minnows on a Pike rig and bobber.

Great looking fish and great to see your young fella learning and enjoying the sport of fishing. They are usually hooked for life after catching fish that size when they are young.
Money cant buy happiness, but it can buy fishin tackle and that is almost the same thing!!

Thanks. Ya, Tristan is pretty much hooked. He holds some family fishing records already. His favourite catch this Summer is still the Carp that Ken taught him how to fish for. Thanks again

I'll be at Bluffers on the Saturday and Monday of Labour Day weekend and also the weekend after that, Ken. So let me know which days work for you. It'll just be me, since Tristan will be away then, but it wold be fun to hook something really big with you. The Salmon should be in the basin then and they're rush when you catch them.

Welcome aboard! Do you have a vehicle? What kind of fish do you normally target?
