Fishing spots on the toronto islands

Hey guys, i'm new here and i've been going to the islands for all my life, and fishing them for the past summer.
I've never had any kind of success anywhere, and i'm wondering if it has something to do with my tackle or i'm just in the completely wrong spot. I'm using a daiwa rod with a spinning reel, and usually with a snap swivel at the end. For lures, i've tried everything from jigs, weedless spoons and a rapala floating crankbait.

    any tips? thanks

Nelon, I find that the islands is more about timing than it is about the spot. Right now you might be able to find some bass in the channels, but due to the heavy boat traffic they'll either be sitting close to bottom or not there at all. The best times are usually at the beginning and the end of the seasons when temperatures are changing, which is also when the people and boat traffic on the islands is at a minimum. I would probably recommend that you get some tough braided line as you'll run in to some toothy pike sooner or later.

What species are you targeting? And what areas have you tried? When I'm fishing the islands I don't stay in the same place for very long. I've been out there some days where Ive walked over 10 miles of shoreline in search of fish.

yeah, i'm planning on going out tomorrow.. not a good time? I'm mostly going for pike, and i've tried a lot of places, including near the big white bridge and around the boathouse/church area.

The weather has been pretty cool, rainy, and overcast. So it is possible that you might find some pike in the channels, but the best time for them is in the earlier part of the year. Either after ice out or during the open season in May.

Try the deep water in the Eastern Gap on Wards, especially at either end of the concrete platform.

Spinners, spoons, jerkbaits, glidebaits, swimbaits, probably a bunch more that I cant think of right now. Most of them target multiple species.
