Didn't get the black one, I took the light grey and white one. There's 5hp and a 9.9hp propane out now, with a 15hp coming out this year. I have my eye on the 9.9, but to be honest, I'm sure it would run pretty good with only two people and gear on board with a 5hp. The 5hp is much lighter to lug around too.

It has a really shallow draft, so it should get up pretty easy with just me in it. Someone offered me a second hand 5hp Honda 4stroke for a good price, but unless I see a kick ass deal at one of the shows, I think I'll stick with getting the 5hp propane motor.

    Check this guy out....

Looks like a pretty stable boat. I think I would be very hesitant about going against a hard current like he did, I would be scared of flipping over backwards, haha. I had a 9.8 Tohatsu, 4 stroke, best working motor I ever owned. For mostly calm water a 5 should push you ok. I dont think it would draw much water even with 2 guys aboard. You just wont be able to enter any races!!! Enjoy and good luck finding your motor.

I have my port authority harbour license test lined up for end of April. Should be good to go from May forward, depending on Weather....

    So...update almost 18 months later....lol.

I got the Toronto inner Harbour license - did the test at Humber college.

The propane outboard is awesome, loads of room in a 16ft boat for a full size BBQ gas tank, lasts for weeks. Boat, engine and everything else fits in the back of my car no problem. Only has a 4inch draft, so it skims across the surface, and up an over the waves outside TTP, even with the lightweight 5hp motor. Cant imagine how this thing would skim along with a 15hp on it.

I even finally made it into the shallows at the back of Humber Marsh, where the Catfish hide out. Highly recommended! looking at launching for this years shenanigans, starting in May
