Behold my mighty new vessel!!!
Behold my mighty new vessel!!!
Well, perhaps not “mighty” but at least I will now be able to access all the good spots at my local reservoir. It’s a 12 foot Old Town canoe that I have finally gotten off my ass and picked up from my parent’s house. I can just manage to carry it and get it up onto the top of my Jeep but it’s much better with two people. Luckily my fiancé just got her fresh water permit so I have someone to help…
I’d like to put a little trolling motor on it but in MA you have to get any “motorized” vessel registered even if it’s a canoe or kayak. We’ll see if I can get motivated enough for that.

Re: Behold my mighty new vessel!!!
I only got out in the canoe four time. I underestimated how much of a pain in the neck trying to move it by myself was going to be.

Re: Behold my mighty new vessel!!!
Yea my friends and I are looking at putting our money together to buy one of the 18' kevlar canoes we used last year at algonquin. They go for about 800 CDN used. But we spent like 150 bucks (plus live jackets, etc) on the four day rental. So after only a few trips it makes up for it.

Canoe's are cool and a lot less hassle than the big stuff, at least you can manage it on your own...I seem to remember Clive getting one, was that ever used?

Probably, but it's not like I can use it- it's hundreds of miles away!
