Re: Wheres everyone from, and whats the fishing like in your home area???
It's an alright town. But the funny thing is that there was never even a battle.. A bunch of cowboy dudes from Fort Vancouver (now a historical landmark in the city of Vancouver) were raisin hell around here and told some Indians they were gonna fight, and that this was the battle ground. But then the Indians pussed out, and the yeehaw cowboy guys just left the name. There's your history lesson for the day lol.
as for the metal.... LAMB OF GOD, my friend. But when I'm tryin to scare away the yuppy fly guys from Maupin I like to throw on some Job for a Cowboy or Into the Moat... I'm also realllllly into blues, jazz, reggage, some pop.. i play geetar.
thats my sig btwAm I the only guy who bumps death metal in Maupin?

Re: Wheres everyone from, and whats the fishing like in your home area???
I'm from BC, living in Vancouver...
I spend as much time as possible fishing lakes in the interior of the province for trophy rainbow trout. (As in 10+ pounds). I also spend a bunch of days a year on streams and rivers both east and north of the city fly fishing for trout, steelhead, and salmon.
A couple of times a year I find myself in Toronto for work, including the first week of July this year. And I am determined to do some fishing while I'm there.
Soooo.... If anyone has any ideas for day trips or locations in the Toronto area that would help me out a ton.
Cheers,
Paul

Re: Wheres everyone from, and whats the fishing like in your home area???
I'm 15 years old and i live in SE Connecticut. I can't drive, so I just fish wherever I can, almost exclusively freshwater.
Most of the ponds and lakes just have pretty normal stuff.
A typical day of fishing here can include:
Big pickerel
Big largemouth
perch, sunny, crappie
brown bullhead
We have some lakes stocked with brookies, buy I've only ever caught one.
My fishing buddy lives on a small lake with all of these fish, and we are usually quite successful, though the fish aren't that exciting.
The BEST fishing in Connecticut though: Bantam Lake. It's like an hour away from me so i rarely get to go, but it's got more Pike in it than anywhere else in CT and I've caught some MONSTER bass with my friend. the panfishing is good too, the rock bass and perch are also huge.

Re: Wheres everyone from, and whats the fishing like in your home area???
Hello FF im new here! My name is Justin and I live in a small town 45mins North of the Toronto (Orangeville). Fishing in my area is not bad but i can never get enough :diablo:
To name a few spots that are within my area and where you could find success are.. Island Lake Conservation
which is a small resivoir right in the Town of Orangeville. This lake has perch ,sunfish ,pike, LM bass , and rockbass.
It is accessable by shore but you will need to do a fair bit of walking (1hr+). Also boats are allowed but only electric motors.
Alot of the Credit River can be accessed near my town and then followed all the way down thru the Forks of the Credit and into the GTA area. Good for SM Bass and Carp,Cats.
The Grand River is another good river to fish. To get access to this river i usually travel up near Grand Valley another 30mins North of Orangeville. It also runs into Belwood Lake near Fergus. Which is another good spot to fish Pike, LM Bass etc.
If anyone is nearby or coming thru my area feel free to PM me for any info or if you want to hook up.
Also i'll be heading to the Islands and other Locations within the GTA soon hope to see some of you guys out there!

Welcome aboard! Do you have a vehicle? What kind of fish do you normally target?
