Steelheading - Not Really
Well now that the Salmon run is pretty much over I decided to head out and catch some steelhead today. Went out east but I wasn't able to hook into any rainbows. I was however able to find a pool with several browns. I think today was my most productive day for catching migratory brown trout in a while. I've attached images to the post for those interested
.
I love trout season <3Tightlines!

Beautiful fish! I have plenty of opportunities to Steelhead fish in the NE Ohio Tribs but Browns are a rather rare bonus catch... I just love the colors/markings on them. Gratz on the catches.

I really want to fish some of the Ohio tribs for steelhead. I've fished a lot of the PA tribs in steelhead alley and they are amazing but I've heard a lot about the Ohio tribs and I may take a trip to Ohio near the end of November. I've spoke to some locals in PA and they told me they have started to restock the browns so perhaps anglers in steelhead alley may be getting runs of browns in the near future.

Nice fish. I'm playing hooky this Wednesday and am going to try steelheading for the first time.

I'm happy to say that I have seen more fish around this spring than ever before. I wish I could say I've been catching more, but I cant! My son, girlfriend and I visited Toronto Islands for pike...
