Toronto Port Authority friend and supporter of those who fish
Dave Clark,
I’m sorry about the recent experience you had regarding fishing along the Waterfront. We hope the attached press release gets the ball rolling in a constructive fashion. Complicated topic, it seems; but it shouldn’t be.

Good News....
Guess someone finally set them straight and had to adjust their stance.
I am surprised; this was indicated a lot fast than I anticipated.
Wonder what the next step is....
"Fishing has never been banned, and once appropriate sites are chosen by landlords and marked for public use, we are happy to host a fishing derby this summer to encourage Torontonians to come down to the waterfront and try their hand at landing a Northern Pike, among other sport fish.”
- Lets see where they designate fishing zones are allowed.

03-27-2012, 10:29 PM #4A huge thank you to the Toronto Port Authority....
this organization has shown class and integrity all the way.....
from the moment we were in contact with Michael Riehl Deputy Harbour Master
we have been given his ear to our complaints and problems...
he has listened....he has been understanding....he has been respectful
he has been a voice of reason in a time of crisis
his efforts to find clarity in the "muddy legal waters" has been of great help...
we will never be able to fully repay him for his efforts and time....
he has our thanks and our respect
sincerely
dave clark
ps we can start repayment by keeping his port clear of litter and being gentlemen when we fish....

Absolutely!! I personally will leave the waterfront every time with not only my garbage but at least one article of someone else's. This is a step in the right direction. Fish on!!

Excellent news, can't wait to fish the derby. Again good job to everyone, Tangledline especially, lets not give up the fight, still more work to do to complete this mission.
Has anyone, everyone sent a message to our mayor? or to the city councillors who front the harbor? if not, please send them a note of concern.
Thanks again.FISH ON!!!

This is excellent news, and I like how fast this has progressed. There is definitely a large patchwork of laws that nobody has previously enforced, with various awkward situations arising from it. Thank you to everyone involved!!
mmMMmmm... bet that fish tastes good!
