Contributor Guidelines

A good contributor article should be original, well written, about 500 words or longer, and showcase your love of fishing. Feel free to mix in some humour and flare where you see fit, remember to bring out your own personality. If you’re submitting a fishing report don’t forget to include the location, date, conditions, species of fish, and lures used. Any images for your contribution should be be submitted in their raw unedited format, right off your digital camera. Do not crop, resize, or colour correct your photos- we will do this. Images should be well lit, in focus, and attractive. We recommend images that are 4 megapixel or greater, however we will accept images as low as 2 megapixel provided they are very well shot.

All submissions should be delivered to Fishing Fury via email for approval. If we publish your submission we will also need an image of you, as well as a good paragraph description about you. Check out the contributors page for examples.

Inspiration

There are several great editorials and contributor articles on our site that can serve as examples and inspiration for your submission. Some of our favorites are: An Introduction to Fishing Japan, Fugu, The Full Report – Little Vermilion Lake 2007, Cerralvo Island, March 11th 2005, Jack Lake Fishing Report August 21-22 2004, and more!

Finally, the most inspiration of all should be that this year we’re running our first ever contributor contest where you could win a custom Sportsmans Trophy Plaque based on your submission!

The Fine Print

It should go without saying that Fishing Fury reserves the right to decline any submission we do not feel meets our standards. Fishing Fury also reserves the rights to use and modify your submission (spelling and grammer corrections) and any images (cropping, colour correcting) for the purpose of publishing and promoting our site.
